Chapelle Notre Dame de Gratemoine

Artist's Catalogue No: 1033

Watercolour & gouache on paper

Image size 41.6 x 50.6 cms

£5,150

Note from the Artist: This building stands entirely alone by the Route Napoléon in southern France, between Castellane and Grasse. I have a particular liking for isolated historic buildings set in interesting landscapes.

French Cricket

Artist's Catalogue No: 1021

Watercolour & gouache on paper

Image size 16.3 x 23.3 cms

£550

Note from the Artist: Although the title is a little pun, I painted this insect from life at St. Cezaire, southern France. It sat obligingly still for a long time on a table right in front of me - an opportunity not to be missed.

Cannon bollards, Clovelly

Artist's Catalogue No: 986

Watercolour & gouache on paper

Image size 23.8 x 33.8 cms

£1,850

Note from the Artist: Clovelly is a very pretty little harbour town on the north Devon coast, with an amazingly steep main street. I was particularly taken with these bollards on the harbour side which are genuine old cannon set into the masonry.

Harlech and Snowden

Artist's Catalogue No: 959

Watercolour & gouache on paper

Image size 53.2 x 73.4 cms

£7,250

Note from the Artist: This is a deliberate manipulation of the landscape. It is a painting of Harlech Castle, Wales, as I would like it to be. In reality the sea, which came right up to the base of the cliff when the castle was built (1283-1289), has retreated by three quarters of a mile, and some of the resulting "new" land has been built on.
